Hair Removal

Northwest Aesthetics offers Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technologies using the Palomar StarLux 500 to make hair removal as fast, painless and permanent as possible.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments

For more permanent hair reduction, try our state-of-the-art IPL system, which gently and quickly reduces unwanted hair. IPL treatments can be used anywhere on the body except directly around the eyes, and keep skin hair-free for much longer than waxing, shaving or tweezing.

The Palomar IPL system works by emitting pulses of intense lamp-light into the hair follicles. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the follicles and converted to heat. The heat then loosens the hair and disables the cells responsible for growing new hair. Most people find IPL treatments to be significantly more comfortable than traditional hair reduction and removal methods. In addition, since the pulses of light penetrate the skin, you do not need to let your hair grow out before you are treated. With pulsed light treatments, you can remain virtually hair-free all the time! Most treatments take 15 - 60 minutes, depending on the area of the body being treated. You may experience some mild redness and tenderness in the treated area, but this usually subsides within a day. And the effects are very long-lasting!

Treatment by our Board certified physician

Northwest Aesthetics’ highly trained physician will administer the IPL hair reduction treatment and can provide you with more information on the procedure. Botox

Frown lines. Everyone gets them. Years of concentrating, reading, staring at a computer screen and, of course, frowning, gives many of us lines and creases between our brows that can make us look older, tired or just plain unapproachable.

If you've been looking for a way to get rid of those frown lines and reveal a younger, more well-rested and relaxed appearance, then Botox® Cosmetic may be right for you.

A quick and easy solution

Botox® Cosmetic is the only treatment of its type approved by the FDA for use in the reduction of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows. Botox works by reducing the movement of the muscles between the brows that are responsible for the frown lines that develop over the years. With less movement of these muscles, the skin surface gradually smoothes out, and frown lines begin to fade.

The beauty of Botox is that there is little or no recovery time, and the entire procedure is performed quickly and with minimal discomfort. With just ten minutes of your time and a few tiny injections, you'll enjoy a noticeable improvement in the lines of your brow, and results last up to four months. You can even get a Botox treatment on your lunch break!

If you have further questions or would like to receive more information before booking your appointment, visit www.BotoxCosmetic.com, or call us for a free consultation.

Juvederm

Erasing the effects of time is something that many of us would like the opportunity to do, simply to restore some of the youthful energy and vitality to our appearance. No matter how well we take care of our skin, the effects of time and gravity cannot be avoided. If attempting to turn back the clock has you thinking about plastic surgery, you might first want to investigate the benefits of Northwest Aesthetics' Juvéderm™ facial filler treatment.

A safe, non-invasive treatment

Juvéderm™ is a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler designed to restore volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Juvéderm™ is made of non-animal-based hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that already exists in the human body and is used to provide volume and fullness to the skin.

Juvéderm™ is injected directly into the skin in tiny amounts by an ultrafine needle, which causes minimal discomfort. After your treatment, you might have some redness or swelling, but should experience this for fewer than seven days. The effects of Juvéderm™ are practically instantaneous, and results last for at least 6 months.

Why Juvéderm?

Juvéderm™ is a "next-generation" filler. It is made from hyaluronic acid—a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to hydrate and add volume. Hyaluronic acid may diminish with age, contributing to the formation of wrinkles and folds.

Juvéderm™ injectable gel works to correct this by restoring hyaluronic acid in your skin, helping to smooth wrinkles and folds. Juvéderm™ injectable gel is a nonsurgical, physician-administered treatment. Your healthcare professional eases Juvéderm™ under the skin using a fine needle to augment, or fill, the soft tissue of the dermis—the dense inner layer of skin beneath the epidermis—to add volume and diminish wrinkles and folds. Juvéderm™ injectable gel is used most effectively for those wrinkles and folds in the lower third of your face, like your "laugh lines," "smile lines" or "parentheses" (nasolabial folds), or "marionette lines" (oral commissures).

Photofacials

We all want clear, beautiful, blemish-free skin. Some of us feel the effects of years of sunbathing or skin that has been over-exposed to the weather, while others are dealing with specific skin conditions such as acne or Rosacea. All of these types of blemishes can make us want to cover up or hide our skin rather than face the world.

Northwest Aesthetics' Palomar RejuveLux™ Process will give you a fast and painless way to experience smooth, clear skin and the poise and self-assurance that comes with it.

Gentle pulsed light technology

The RejuveLux™ Process uses pulses of concentrated light to treat sunspots, age spots, and superficial blue, red or purple veins under the skin's surface. It can also diffuse browning of the skin known as Actinic Bronzing, and treat breakouts of Rosacea and acne. The RejuveLux Process treatment is faster and easier than most laser treatments. A pulsed light handpiece is moved over the skin, emitting light that breaks up the pigment in skin lesions or breaks down the tiny colored capillaries. Most people perceive the light as a gentle "snapping" sensation, which causes little to no discomfort. Any area of the body can be treated, including the face, neck, chest, arms, hands, and legs. The only area that must be avoided is directly around the eyes.

Fast and Long-Lasting Results

Pigmented lesions will darken slightly after treatment, and then fade away after about 10-14 days. If you are treating broken capillaries or spider veins, the vessels generally undergo immediate graying or blanching and the surrounding area may redden. The vessels then fade after about 10-14 days. You may experience some mild temporary redness similar to a sunburn, but this does not interfere with normal activities and usually subsides within a day.

Treatment by our Board certified physician

Northwest Aesthetics' highly trained physician will administer the medical RejuveLux Photofacial treatment and can provide you with more information on the procedure. Photofacial with Levulan® Treatment

There is a new addition to our Photofacial procedure that can substantially enhance your results. Known as Photodynamic Therapy or PDT, a photosensitizing agent in the form of topical cream is applied to the area for a short time before the photo facial. The photosensitizing agent we use is Levulan (aminolevulinic acid). Levulan is absorbed selectively by those cells in the skin that produce pigment, the blood vessels that make our skin red and cause rosacea, superficial premalignant skin lesions known as actinic keratosis, and cells infected with acne causing bacteria. When the IPL energy from the photo facial hits the skin, the Levulan in the affected cells is converted into a chemical that releases free oxygen radicals destroying the cells into which it has been taken up. Levulan multiplies the effect and thereby the benefits of the photo facial treatment by targeting specific cells for destruction. Most technicians who have performed both consider the photo facial with Levulan equal to about three standard photo facial treatments.

Acne and Rosacea

Clear, beautiful, blemish-free skin is something we all aspire to. If you are suffering from skin conditions such as acne or Rosacea, there is no better time to get the smooth, clear skin and the poise and self-assurance that comes with it than right now. Northwest Aesthetics' Palomar RejuveLux™ Process will give you a fast and painless way to experience freedom from the blemishes that can make us want to hide our skin rather than face the world.

Gentle pulsed light technology

The RejuveLux™ Process uses pulsed light, rather than laser, to treat breakouts of Rosacea and acne. RejuveLux™ treatments are faster and easier than most laser treatments.

Some results are instantaneous; others may take a few days. You may experience some mild temporary redness similar to a sunburn, but this does not interfere with normal activities and usually subsides within a day. And the results of your treatment will last, leaving you with the smooth, clear skin you've been dreaming of.

Skin Tightening

If you are thinking about surgery for smoother, tighter skin you may want to consider our new and effective method of infrared skin tightening for the face, abdomen, upper arms, and other areas of the body. Northwest Aesthetics offers the Palomar LuxDeepIR Fractional Infrared treatment which offers visible results with little or no downtime.

The LuxDeepIR delivers infrared light deep into the dermis. This light causes soft tissue coagulation which leads to remodeling of the collagen within the dermis. The remodeled collagen results in overall skin tightening. Some people experience lingering warmth, tightness, or redness in the treated area, which fades within a few hours. Most report no discomfort at all. Generally, you can return to work or other activities right after a treatment. If you have further questions or would like to receive more information before booking your appointment, visit www.palomarmedical.com, or call us for a free consultation.

Fractional Skin Resurfacing

Skin resurfacing is used to improve the tone and texture of skin as well as decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Some skin resurfacing devices, such as CO2 lasers, use the ablative method, which removes the epidermis and some of the dermis. While good results are eventually seen, the drawbacks include red and raw skin, and a risk of infection for several weeks after the treatment.

The Palomar Lux1540 Fractional Laser delivers light in an array of narrow, focused “microbeams", to create columns of coagulation (heat) within the skin. The heated tissue within the columns initiates a natural healing process that forms new, healthy tissue. This results in a fresher, more youthful skin tone and texture. The columns of coagulation leave areas of healthy tissue that allow for quicker recovery and less risk.

Northwest Aesthetics' highly trained physician will administer the medical RejuveLux™ Photofacial treatment and can provide you with more information on the procedure. Spider Veins

Many people suffer from unsightly purple and red spider veins. For some, it can be the difference between choosing to wear shorts on a hot summer day, or covering up with jeans.

If you've fantasized about having beautiful, blemish-free legs that you can show off to the world, Northwest Aesthetics' treatments can help you realize your dreams.

Treat spider veins quickly and painlessly

At Northwest Aesthetics, we offer the Palomar RejuveLux™ Process, which uses intense pulsed light (IPL) rather than laser to treat spider veins. Any area of the body can be treated, including the face, neck, chest, arms, hands, and legs. The only area that must be avoided is directly around the eyes.

IPL treatments deliver a precise dosage of energy to each vein in a series of brief pulses. The light energy is absorbed by the blood vessels, but not the surrounding tissue. This heat absorption causes a coagulation of the blood vessel, which is subsequently absorbed by your body. Most people perceive the light as a gentle "snapping" sensation, which causes little to no discomfort.

Our professionals can provide you with all of the medical details and information on these procedures. If you have further questions or would like to receive more information before booking your appointment, simply call us to schedule a free consultation.

Excessive Sweating

If you are experiencing severe underarm sweating that significantly interferes with your daily activities, and topical agents haven't worked, Northwest Aesthetics' trained physician may be able to help by administering Botox® injections. Controlling the condition

Botox is approved for severe underarm sweating when topical agents don't work. Botox treatment helps control this condition by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands.

During the procedure, a very fine needle is used to inject a small volume of Botox solution into the affected underarm area. You may experience some slight injection-related discomfort, but this will last only seconds. You will notice a significant reduction in underarm sweating within four weeks of your first treatment. Results typically last up to 6 months, so twice yearly treatments are recommended.

Northwest Aesthetics' trained physician can provide you with all of the medical details and information on the procedure.
